Some Baiscs

0th: you have to have meaning and value, which only a True Faith can provide.

1st: for every text/words/sentences, be careful to distinguish between facts and opinions; and for every text/words/sentences, be aware of its denotation and connotation and their functions.

2nd:self recursion is a very interesting and permeated phenomena than a logic paradox like the “dictionary paradox”.

Examples: there is a book titled “What money can’t buy”, but you first need money to buy this book if you want to know it. I often want to use Google to help me understand how to get around on the internet and I certainly used Google to know how to solve a particular problem when I was installing an Operating System for my computer, but I realized that you first need a computer and internet to know ‘how-to’s of computer and internet; people developed software to teach “how to develop software”.

Extra point if you get it: the “chicken and egg” question is meaningless if you are sure both of them are end up on your dinner table anyway.

Relationship with Gov

The word says that he has ordained governments and that we should pr-y for the leaders. This does not mean that he approves of wrong things governments do, but the fact is that even a government that does these kinds of things is better than no government because he uses governments to maintain a certain order and to punish evil. Anarchy, i.e., no government, would be dangerous to everyone. I often disagree with my own government, but I know that there is hope that things will improve in the future. If we do what he wants us to do, we are lights in a dark world and can point others to him. We can work to improve the world a little bit at the time, starting with ourselves, and we make that initial step by relying on him.

And I think further on practice, I think at least certain genuine democracy is needed; monarchy is also very dangerous to anyone.

For me, I wish not only in reality there is no Gulag but wish also there is no possibility to have one in the future.

Favorite Bible verse: Matthew 6:1-13

1 “Be especially careful when you are trying to be good so that you don’t make a performance out of it. It might be good theater, but the God who made you won’t be applauding.

2-4 “When you do something for someone else, don’t call attention to yourself. You’ve seen them in action, I’m sure—’playactors’ I call them— treating prayer meeting and street corner alike as a stage, acting compassionate as long as someone is watching, playing to the crowds. They get applause, true, but that’s all they get. When you help someone out, don’t think about how it looks. Just do it—quietly and unobtrusively. That is the way your God, who conceived you in love, working behind the scenes, helps you out.

Pray with Simplicity
5 “And when you come before God, don’t turn that into a theatrical production either. All these people making a regular show out of their prayers, hoping for stardom! Do you think God sits in a box seat?

6 “Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.

7-13 “The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply.

How to read the Scr@pture

According to “Gregory the great”, there are 4 four-fold exegetical model developed upon St. Augustine to read the Scripture, namely:

1. Literal. Most new readers there four new followers are suitable for this layer. However, we should beware not to take something out of context, both in textual and historical sense. This point has two fold: a.our faith is dynamic, keep it alive. b. our faith is rooted in history.

2. Interpretation / Allegorical. Scripture is full of symbolic meaning and metaphors. It includes different forms of literature. We should use the appropriate method to read the type of literature requires.

3. Tropological / Moral. Just think about the parables in the NT.

4. Anagogic / Apocalyptic. This is about the interpretation related to revelation, resurrection, this and after life.

Favorite Bible verse

Matthew 5:5-12

5 “You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

6 “You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

7 “You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.

8 “You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

9 “You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

10 “You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

11-12 “Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble.

Clarification on my self

Friends, I am one of the Christians that:

Hate religious intolerance and religious bigotry.

Sympathize, though not subscribe to their Ultimate Truth claim of, other religions ideas.

Agree to current science diagnostic that Global Warming is caused by Human Activities.

I love technology, engineering and my capacity to reasoning and thinking. I cherish these gifts that God give to me and they are glorifying God.

I love the world God created ( the natural world, not many the things man made ).

I think learning is good just because for the sake of the learning itself; and life long learning is my obvious default mod.

I pray to The Lord that He will guide me and teach me, give me courage and wisdom to help myself and others.
