Three great Christmas music albums for your Christmas eve and holidays

Sometimes it is hard to believe the time pasts so fast, I clearly remember the last Christmas: I and my family had a great movie night; plus, I learned say THE LORD’S PRAYER first time. I am not very religion though, it is just I am an regular Chinese guy and living in China really have little religious (should I say spiritual?) experience; and I studied much western culture, always want to bring what I learned into my actual day to day practice–anyway, that’s a whole different story.

I believe many of you have planned an exciting Christmas eve ahead. I, on the other hand, live in the culture without the traditional Christmas holidays, even though, nowadays, many Chinese cities are have great Christmas decorations and the enticement ads on the media to lure you to buy something, still I guess it mustn’t as exciting as many of yours *; but I have prepare some good things for my own 🙂 , and here I would like also recommend them to you for your happy Christmas holidays: Three great Christmas music albums.

The first one is: Music of Christmas Performed by John Williams & Boston Pops – Joy to the World (1992)
This is a symphony/orchestra music album performed by one of my favorite Conductor. It contains many classic Christmas music. Pop in this cd into your cd player and you will not regret; maybe it will also suit for a Christmas eve party.

The second is: Amy Grant – A Christmas Album
Amy has a great voice. I really like this album, especially the first song “Tennessee Christmas”. The album makes you feel like sometimes in a church, sometimes you by yourself in a road trip car alone and sometimes feel like with your family surround a warm fireplace. My god, I like all the feelings it brings me hahaha. It is really a good album.

The third is the: Josh Groban – Noel
I first listened Josh Groban is in the Sarah Brightman’s concert: La Luna. He has many good albums, including his self entitled “Josh Groban”, “Closer” and a Live record at Greek. The most famous song maybe the song of the Motion Picture A.I. “For Always” performed with. Lara Fabian. Also you may know his another song “You Raise Me Up”. Noel, this album is produced specially for Christmas I think. And there is a song “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” mixed with background voice from soldiers in Middle East sending regards to their family. I think many U.S. soldiers in Middle East are sending or have sent many messages to their family. You can send all kinds of message these days, text message, video messages, voice messages or just regular letters; I don’t know if every America soldier can make video telephone through internet, but hey, you may can send Christmas song to your love ones(of course, better choose a song by yourself and mixed your own voice)! 🙂

So, I hope you can enjoy some great music this Christmas. Happy Christmas and New Year 2008!

P.S.The situation is that our own traditional festivals are less and less like the festivals before–meaning, to many people, it seems lost the characteristic of TRADITIONAL CHINESE CULTURE; and the government this year has post a new policy on canceling the two Golden-Week (May day–the communist labor day week and Oct, 1st–national day week)holidays in order to cover more traditional Chinese holidays.
